Golf is one of the pillars of the Go For The Greens Foundation. Building business relationships on the golf course, replicating many life and business challenges and providing opportunities to get more in touch with personal feelings, emotions and attitudes are just a few of the benefits of the Go For the Green’s Golf Experience.

Go for the Greens Golfing Tips

Golf is an especially vital component of the Go for the Greens mission and Annual Conference. Between now and September, we will be providing golf tips for the novice golfers. We hope you enjoy the tips and sign up to join us on September 23, 2023.

Why Play Golf?

  •  Golf teaches life lessons including honesty, self-confidence, endurance, resiliency, and accepting success as well as failure.
  • Golf is a wonderful opportunity to network professionally, but also can be a fun activity with friends.
  • Golf is a good workout for your body and mind. It includes a little meditation, yoga (that swing), walking (even with a cart) and burns calories!
  • Golf can help along your career. You have an opportunity to bond with new clients, spend one-on-one time with upper management and relax over drinks at Hole 19.
  • If you are into fashion trends, this game has a whole fashion wardrobe of its own. (More about the do’s and don’ts of what to wear in an upcoming newsletter.)
Did you know…the fastest growing group of golfers is women, now six million out of 27 million golfers in the United States.

Tips From Those That Play

Follow us as we provide a three-part series on tips from those who play the game.
  1. Don’t become a range rat. Don’t get so comfortable hitting balls on the driving range that you don’t get out on the course to actually play.
  2. Lessons are worth the money. Instead of buying the latest and greatest video or piece of equipment, money spent on lessons can pay bigger dividends.
  3. Start with chip shots. As an ultra novice of the game, it can be helpful to learn the basics of the golf swing and how to put the club face on the golf bal
  4. Master your grip. Learn how to get a good grip. A bad grip can do nothing but cause problems going forward.
  5. Keep your head down on putts. You want to LISTEN for the ball to go in the hole, not watch it actually drop.
  6. Aim for the center of the green and not the flags. It’s what pros do, and you should, too.
  7. Don’t play hero ball. Hit the shot you know how to hit, not the one-in-a-million you wish you were capable of hitting.

And remember to have fun! That’s why we play.
